Mon. 14th Jan… On a cold clear evening we prepared
ourselves, some in the warmth of the Kestor Inn!, for Warm Front and Double
Top’s trail. The pair had achieved excellent performances at the Dawlish Obelisk
10 miler the day before so maybe they would be kinder to us tonight? We were not to be disappointed their well
marked route led us through shiggy woodlands and up and down along boulder
strewn paths beside the roaring river Bovey, usually a very peaceful place but
not tonight. After a refreshing sweet stop On On again until we eventually
reached Manaton church and with some tarmac under our feet, we were able to safely
lift our eyes and admire the many star formations above on our Home run.
Down Downs were awarded to TEA POT who on his early arrival
back at the pub decided to near completely strip off to change inside the pub
in front the warmth of a convenient wood burner, a very frightful sight had any
of the patrons appeared !!
Also to SOAPY for her birthday this week (regret that I did
not have the camera ready for this!) to No 69 for his 100 Runs “in how many
years?” and finally to The Last MOHICAN for parking over the first L/S split
seen here drinking a special “cocktail” Down Down….
