April Fools......
Forest laid a wicked (and it was wicked as you will see) April Fool trail having lost BJ laying the trail. The Longs if followed, according to signs, would have done 2 miles and the shorts about 7 so at each split there was much "Long /short could it be double bluff" discussion and for the likes of Doris confusion from the off as she came short thinking she was on the long and doubled back. At the sweetie stop there were large chocolate covered marshmallows (with chilli in the biscuit base) those that took the healthy option instead of the greedy one had apples and oranges (undoctored) there was also a box of "dog biscuits" which turned out to be delicious chocolate covered peanutty biscuits. There were a couple of virgins introduced by Forest to boost the numbers which on a bitter bank holiday were not too bad. Can't report on the longs except that Poacher and Wide were out for good 1.5 hours and went into Lutsleigh (probably stopped at the Cleave for a swifty They all seemed to have enjoyed the trail as we did and it was pretty dry too. There was a down down for lost property of 2 gloves and one of the virgins who appeared to be wearing dayglo pants over his leggings was given down down and named Pink Panter. Food at the Hennock pub was sausages (proper nice ones not your usual deep fried crap) and chips - also very nice served. That covers what little I know.(Screw - hope you get on ok at Docs. xx) Many thanks to Cathy "Zoot" Evans for this report.
