Mon 4th: at
Tinkley Bottom for Forest 's Firework & Bonfire Hash and at least it was
dry and the sky clear! Probably this was arranged by our returning Met Office
Hasher’s! At the Circle Rambo reminded us that it was now Movember or at least
that’s what I thought he said! Soapy also announced “Don't forget to bring your
money next week for TVH Christmas party on Monday 16th December at Bovey Tracey . Members £10.00, non members £15.00” Fancy dress
theme - Song titles!
Then off we set on what Forest described as a fairly short trail! Some climbed gates that were easily
opened! we ran an out and back route!…what was at the end of it ? Up some steep
tracks and fields to Trushham before a good leg stretching downhill run across
more fields and tricky paths, where some kind neighbours called from somewhere
below to warned us to be careful, but it was far too dark and dodgy underfoot
to see why! The assault course run finally lead us safely back to Tinkley
Bottom. In Forests barn the young barmen were all set up to serve us real ale
and other drinks at prices that reduced during the evening! Note. All
barmen to follow this strategy! The fire
had now been lit and after the DD’s it was time to buy the Road Kill food at
very modest prices, this had been well prepared as a very tasty stew or a curry
and Piddler was pleased as there were seconds!! As Winkey (Forests dog) had
eaten the banoffee pie from the kitchen table we had to share out an apple
strudel for dessert.
A big well done to Forest
Hump and all involved with the preparation and serving of the food and drinks
also to Woodlend and his pal for lighting the fireworks and of course to Forest
for organising another excellent evening.
PS
It will take me several
days’s to get all of that mud off of my new tyres! Next time I will park next
to Teapot!
