Monday 30th June at The
Thatched Tavern Maidencombe, received a message from Bluebird that although the
trail had been laid, he may not make the circle but to carry on regardless! Once the Dustcart had removed its self from
our Circle there was a large pack visible for Doris ’s 21st Birthday Trail, including a large contingent
from Plympton H3 plus two “Virgins”. Bluebird arriving in the nick of time was
able to give us the final briefing …”Shorts” on the flour trail “Longs” on cat litter,
this later proved ok, until the trails met some Hashers had forgotten this
detail finding themselves on Litter when they should have been on Flour ! It
was a warm sunny evening with the usual steep climbs followed by a fast down
hill as we weaved our way along the many coastal footpaths. We eventually
regrouped for sweets in woodland near Labrador Bends where we caught up with
co-Hare Bobby Ball . Bluebird related the story of these woods and their
many names, his favourite being Shotgun Woods, where laying prone on the ground
he relayed the sad tale of a lover who ended his days exactly there at our feet
!... Moving rapidly away from this spot we were soon taking in some amazing
coastal views as we returned to Maidencombe were The “Thatch” had laid on some
excellent pasta topped with cheese and crispy bacon to revive us washed down
with a good choice of beers and ciders.
D Downs were awarded to
TEAPOT for calling RENTBOY by his nerd name.
A naming for Craig , from the Orestone Hotel another Fawlty Towers candidate? Name..”SYBIL ”
A mass DD, to the Plympton
H3 group who we were so pleased to meet.
