...on Monday 20th April at the Mount
Pleasant Dawlish Warren for the Pack as they formed up on a very
pleasant early summers evening, our GM welcomed visitors BIG ISSUE,
IMELDA, and 7month old DESPERATE Jnr. to the circle, before Rambo made
his announcement! followed by yours truly ( Winfield) with the usual
trail info... On-On with the longs getting a close up sea view, with a
loop around part of the Warren, led at a fast pace by IMELDA and WIDE before
catching up with short in the woodlands on the Eastdon Estate. A
welcome sweet regroup awaited here, with and chance to see the red ball
of the setting sun as it sank below the Haldon hills. A SS Split now for
some and a On-On for the rest, with the long taking in Cockwood Harbour
before meeting the Short again at the Cofton Country Park's woodland
playground where I had to persuade WIDE that his time was up on that
zipwire! Ahead now and so engrossed in catching up on their news were
BIG ISSUE and COLDITZ managing to run the next Long loop in error and in
reverse! With a final long view over Dawlish for the pack as they
skirted the Rape fields and headed back to the Mount Pleasant. Landlord
Malcolm had laid more than ample food, with tray after tray of hot dogs
appearing which was probably why in was once our On Down of the Year.
DD's were awarded to the following Hash "offenders" Soapy for a fancy
dance down the steps on trail. Wide Receiver for not phoning home after
surfing at the Warren. Aaron ( unnamed ) for planning to stop for even
more food on the way home! Teapot a DD for almost a life spent Hashing
rewarded with a1000 RUNS Badge. Hope you enjoyed the evening ? On-on to
next week at the Blues Brothers Birthday Hash from the Ness Car Park at
Shaldon
