Mon 13th: Queens Arms, Station Hill, Brixham, first find somewhere to
park ? after several circuits avoiding the one way streets we all
managed to park somewhere near the green. The Queens Arms pub is a
“simple back street boozer with an aim to bring back traditional values
for locals and visitors alike” sited almost under an ancient railway
bridge from he old line towards Churston Junction . At the circle many
were wearing their various 'Roger the duck' T-Shirt's as Soapy welcomed
one visitor Foggy from SHH3, an appropriate name for this evening as
the sea mist swirled around us. Fallen Woman and Broken Man described
what should happen on Trail although there was some immediate confusion
between them “Short is this way? No this way”! With that knee of mine
still giving some trouble I decided on the Short route which led us down
the alleys and steps on a well marked trail to the Harbour around this
and On On checking up and down steps then across a beach passing
Shoalstone Pool one of the few remaining outdoor seawater swimming pools
left in the country, here WET FART did try to dive in but we told him
it was empty! On now to the Berry Head Hotel where I decided not to push
my luck any further, while the Longs headed on up through the woodland
towards Berry Head. All gradually with CODTITZ giving us some concern,
found their way back into the welcoming Queens Arms, which as a CAMAR
pub of the year in 2014 had some rare ales to offer one looking more
like Guinness while the hot food selection provided at minimal cost by
the landlord was really excellent!
Down-Downs were awarded to the following offenders:-
SATNAV- confided to have forgotten to shaved her legs !
FUKAWE managed to spot at least 4 people peeing during the run??
WET JONNIE stopped and spotted a snake or was it ??
FOGGY – a visitor DD from the “vessel”... which we thought he was about to pee into!
Thank you FALLEN WOMAN and BROKEN MAN for an excellent evening!
On On to next week at the Mount Pleasant Inn, DAWISH WARREN Hare yours truly Winfield.
