Run No 1586 on Monday 18th
May at The Royal Oak Dunsford for FORREST STUMP and FORREST HUMP'S Trail, at the circle
good to welcome back honeymooner’s SOAPY (Mrs Picker) and MELLON
PICKER also RASPBERRY NIPPLE from her NZ trek along with her driver
DAMP PATCH and local virgin Hasher ANDY wearing his new shoes!
Appropriately named SATNAV arrived just as we were about to leave
having gone to the pub at Bridford! FORREST'S 6 mile trail with
Long/short/Short-Short options and sweet stops led us out across
fields (but not in the direction of Butts !) over the Teign's well
spaced stepping stones, here PILDOWN manly waded in to support some
of the Harriet s. Onwards and upwards we trekked through Bridford
Woods and on out to view the green beauty of the Teign Valley, Longs
and Med. split with the Long heading on towards Windmill Gate then on
up to a s/stop at Heltor View to see more of this beautiful area.
Returning to Dunsford now where there were Hasher s tales from the
trail DRAG ACT could find no trail marks near end. SLACKER charged
down hill and twisted his ankle and no doubt many more. The Royal Oak
we discovered was also being used as the On Down for Kirton Hash,
good to see some of those who we supported on their inaugural run
many moons ago. The landlord for a small donation had supplied trays
of excellent sandwiches for which we were very grateful and
struggling to eat them all. Down Downs were
awarded to the following offenders :-COLDTITZ- wrongly
deciphering the Fruit/ Stop mark as F.....g / Short?? ...
FORREST - using some flour when he had all that sawdust!.... PILTDOWN – a gallant act in helping Harriet s over the stepping stones.VIRGIN ANDY- wearing those new clean shoes!
