#1614 on Mon 30th at The Devon Dumpling Shiphay,Torquay- Hares Skip
& Snowy A huge turnout for this Trail, with many of Snowy's pals and
several Torbay AC members present introductions took some time, we were
also pleased to see the return of FLOWERY and POACHER. There seemed to
be more in the circle than around it a naming here also for SNOWYS pal
now AFTER BURNER after almost setting himself alight. SNOWY and SKIPS
epic trail led us out of Shiphay around the G/Schools pic
king
out all the alleys and footpaths with a chance here to give those new
Hasher’s a few points on trail markings. We picked our way down into
Cockington meadows, plenty of shiggy here and those nice clean shoes
were soon bright orange, Into Cockington park we were led the trail
split and took some finding PIDDLER found a route it was Long and uphill
to meet the Pack at the Warren Barn “Sweet Stop”. More Long uphill now
with FLOWERY, then down into Scadson Woods, where somehow I must have
taken the wrong route?? As I was now leading the Pack.. well at least
for a short time before one by one Snowy's athletic young men sped past
me. Up hill again onto the slippery Heritage Trail above Cockington WIDE
and FUCAWI passed me here and that leg of mine was aching so no speed
left to catch them. Did however find a great route?? with RAMBO and
FALLEN WOMAN which gave me a final chance to get back to the Dumpling
just before those FRB's. The Pub was busy, even busier as we all tried
get a reviving drink, DD's were held upstairs, which were awarded to
yours truly....
WINFIELD for “short cutting” the trail....never!
But I did take Hovel Annie home a flower?
AFTER BURNER his 18th Birthday DD all the right notes/ wrong order.
TEAPOT ..again! this time awarded a newly knitted hat or was it a TEA COSY ?
WET JONNIE for a “Bug-- You” expletive on trail.
A great evening and trail well done SNOWY and SKIP that 8k seemed more like 8 miles!
Hope all of those TAAC and Snowy's many pals enjoyed the TVH3
experience and will return
