5th Dec #1668 Circle up at The Waterside Goodrington, where it was a
lot warmer than last week as RAMBO was already baring his chest, while
FUKAWE was busy moving his car from one spot to another and nearly
knocking us all over! Hare BOBBIBALL had several goes at explaining the
details of his trail as he gradually remembered all the finer points
like distance, marks only two and “On”, regroup etc. Off we set heading
down to Goodrington Sands then all the way along the sea front to a L/S split. On Long up and up the slopes of Roundham Gardens before I lost the trail!
(I am shore there was only one mark from that last check?) On downhill now through Youngs Park with ARCHANGEL, before crossing the Dartmouth Rd. only to lose the trail again with SATNAV and SLIP/Me before going into the off road area around Clennon Lakes. It was somewhere here that WIDE RECEIVER spotted a circle with a centre dot and waited for the sweets! but that’s not a RG mark on a TVH3 trail. On-on up the steep Clennon Hill to the official Sweet Stop, where there was time to remove some clothing after that climb (only jackets etc!) . As we ate there were several loud “trumping” sounds which RAMBO blamed DORIS for? before we headed on down hill through woodlands to the Goodrington Rd, followed by an “On” across the Dartmouth Rd to Sugar Loaf Hill with some great views far out to sea from the top of this feature before returning to The Waterside.
Inside the Pub it was busy with a Quiz and a charity raffle in progress and somehow POLLYFELLA managed to win? a prize before the draw had even started!
Finding a quiet corner the DD awards were announced with the first one going to:-
TINY TANKS who was identified as the “trumping” culprit.
FUKAWE for parking in a Disabled Bay.
BOBBIBALL for dropping most of his sweets!
PILTDOWN MAN for being very musical or was he practising his song for the Christmas Party?
