...on Mon 27th Feb Circle # 1680 at the Dam between Tottiford & Trenchford Reservoirs with Hare: STUNG-Down-UNDER. After a wet and stormy day there was a break in the weather which encouraged good turnout support for her “Virgin” lay which Doris was most impressed with.
At our circle, which was in one of the muddiest CP's I have ever driven into it was good to see our newest Hashers SAM and JEZ still with us.
STUNG's well marked trail, with assistance from her DAD thankfully, lead us along the side of Trenchford Res. where you had to keep a constant eye out for roots and rocks or you could soon be swimming! A Hasher clad in combat trousers and an odd variety of clothing sped past just before the two L/S splits, which immediately reduced the pack to just me on Long to chase after those FRB's who I could hear somewhere ahead.
Quite where I was, even now looking at the map I’m still not sure, but was soon out of the forest heading along lanes with rain lighting up in my headtorch, uphill now before heading back off road, following the thankfully well marked trail over heathland into the deep forest, all I needed now was my lamp to fail and trust there was someone else behind somewhere to assist! Fortunately I was soon back in an area that I remembered and along the side of Tottiford Res. which with lights in the distance ahead meant I was on route back to the On-Home. I had enjoyed that 4+ mile workout and there were still Hashers out there somewhere?
Back down in Bovey in the comfort of the Dolphin the pack soon dried off and revived itself before the DD's with the first one going to....SLIP-on-ME for slipping over! and now wearing only stripy socks (on her feet) as she had lost a shoe somewhere!
JEZ (still to be named) for that horror clothing apparition spotted charging along in the dark.

SUNG-down-UNDER for an excellent well marked trail, should also have given one to DAD had he been present!
Well done SUNG for an excellent evening and trail in spite of the awful weather.
