# 1707 on Monday 11th Sept. Circle at The Kestor Inn, Manaton for Hare Whisperer's Trail
Although it was sunny at the coast by the time we reached the Moor it was raining!
But this had not stopped a good Hash turnout including visitors from
Otter, Isca and good to see Undulating and Knotty back after their
summer exploits!
Piltdowns question for the Pack what is the name of the Hurricane after Irma? (Jose)
Whisperer's alleged 3 or 6 miler! Led us on a great scenic but
challenging well marked... (well a couple of problems but he was alone!)
..trail down through woodlands to the river Bovey along muddy tracks
with a W/D split for those who wanted to wade in the river or keep Dry.
It was soon getting darker, head torches were needed, but the diving
bats didn’t seem to mind us, or the ponies as we headed on to Foxworthy,
followed by a run back on the other side of the river. With Archangel
Gobbler and SMellie as we reached the bottom of Trendlebere Down there
were lights way up but not on the trail we had found, pressing on past
Becka Brook we wound our way up and up to the main road.
Eventually
finding Whisperer with Sweets, decided now not to join the other Longs
who's torches we could see way above us somewhere on Great Houndtor,
best choice for us, a good road run in over the cattle grid back into
Manaton, with Hashers appearing from all directions as we reached the
On-Home.
After much needed food and drink it was time for the Awards which were presented to :-
RISE and SHINE for her Birthday 50Runs Badge, but has she already received one??
UNDULATING and KNOTTY for being away and that 23 mile row on the Thames.
WHISPERER for throwing everything at us on a great trail!
FESTA from Otter H3 a welcome DD
Well done Whisperer we all enjoyed that bracing run.
On to next week at Bellever Forest CP Nr Postbridge: Hares Slip On Me & Pisswell.
