Monday 24th June, at the
Lower CP Haytor for Bogof’’s Birthday Hash aided by Gromit. A bight sunny
evening for a run on Dartmoor and amongst the large pack we were pleased to
“anoint” 2 more “Virgin Hashers”. The trail of one and on soon led us into the
nearest boggy ground where we were soon leaping around trying to avoid the
“shiggy” without much success, although when I caught up with Teapot his shoes
were completely dry? “There are only two of us who can walk on water” he
informed me! There was much searching required on trail as the marks were well
spread out , but at least it slowed the FRB’s down! In and out of the Quarry we
ran then a gasping climb up and over Haytor Rocks and on through the sharp
gorse to a very welcome beer stop from Boggy’s left over barrel. After this we
were soon trying to find our way across another large bog without getting
covered in mud and water. At the On Down at the Carpenters Arms there was much
discussion on how some had tried without success to avoid the marshland and DD’s
were awarded to….
…yet to be named Tim, Cinderfella and U-Bend, with a triple Birthday DD to Hornie, Boggy and Satnav a naming was required for our young Harriet now to be known as Flung Dung for her antics with cow-pats.
