Mon 21st: April at the Kings Arms, Kingsteignton for Wigwams Easter Monday trail. After
the arrival of DRAG ACTS “boys”, including LEGS 11, who had been absent for of
over 2 year’s, with a foot injury, our Pack numbers were now at 40+. A welcome
to Maria from Portugal invited along by Flowery and after a final word from
the Hare about fast flowing rivers and some rough trail distances off we set. Charging off in the wrong directions until the Pack finally found Wigwams
cunning trail, laid behind the Newton Abbot Rugby ground leading through
something like mangrove swamps and crossed by many narrow board walks then
woodlands, before we reached a L/S split. Longs had a fast trail loop to cover, via Sampson ’s Restaurant! before we finally came back to the Teigngrace level
crossing. A virgin trail now lay ahead beside the Stover Canal
but some of us missed it as DEEP THROAT had led us astray ! we had followed the
cycle route to the Balls Corner Roundabout
instead. Another L/S split with the Longs heading towards Hackney Marshes
via the new cycle bridge while the Short headed On Home along the Newton Road . At the Kings Arms OD a much
needed pint was required from the welcoming landlord and landlady followed by
an excellent buffet and great atmosphere.
DD’s were awarded to DEEP
THROAT for dashing around and leading us astray. FLOWERY TWATS. for “just a welcome
back gift” from Poacher
MELLON PICKER for asking
“where was the sweet stop” there wasn’t one!
TEAPOT for Improper
behaviour at the Circle! and Rent Boy had failed to identify the correct Maria MANPIG for at last !!! receiving
his 250 Runs badge

excellent evening!
