"Nothing ever happens at Dawlish" except...

Mon 28th April and the day had finally arrived to lay my trail for TVH3, there had been several changes contemplated for this, would it be too long etc, But in the end the original route was laid, even then “Deep Throat” said it was a bit short! (Next time I will perhaps revive that historic 9 miler !) At the Circle we welcomed back Sparkie after a long absence; it was also good to see the locals Three D and Double D with us. The trail circled around Dawlish from Lea Mount and Croyton Cove where the Café had burnt down last weekend! Then along the sea wall as it was high tide! the rebuilding is still on going along there, especially where the rail line was cut. Eventually after a hill climb we reached the View Point “sweet stop” at the “Seven Sisters” clump of fir’s from there were great views across the town and far out to sea, also down the Exe towards Exeter. Out at sea we could see the Sanko Mineral cargo ship which has been here since last September, it has a recent history of avoiding the US port authorities (see Bluebird for more info) It was all down hill from here back to the car park. In the Brunswick Arms OD the landlord had kindly laid on an excellent buffet for us, for which we were pleased to make a donation.
DD’s were awarded to WET FART for stripping off to wash in front of a lady’s house last week, she called the police to the scene, very concerned of what might be about to occur to her or her daughter !
