... Mon 24th Aug from Tinkley Bottom Hare's Forrest
& Heidi and with Food & drink provided plus our commemorative
T-Shirt there were many regular and good to see several returnees
present at the circle. The trail although a fairly short one had many
false trails as it wound its way around the Teign valley countryside
with a scary view down into the deeply flooded quarry and then for the
longs a wade across the fast flowing river Teign before we found
ourselves
back at Tinkley Bottom.
Forrest and Co had prepared a well laid “arena” for our celebration
games starting with a singles tug of war across his large pond where
several challengers ended up swimming in it! This was followed by the
“slippery pole pillow fight” this was one of the local telegraph poles
balanced across his large inflated pool where again several contestants
were encouraged to test their skills? (see pics) Woodlend by now had
heated up the large BBQ and with the beer barrels in place it was time
to enjoy the excellent food and some of Soapy's excellently created 1600
Run cake and other delicacies. Down Downs were awarded to Wet Johnny for his wet performances, Fish Bait and Sinker for their excellent performances on that pole,Woodlend his 100 Badge, Hotlips his 50 Runs Badge
Very well done to all the contestants and to Forrest for arranging an excellent evening
