Circle up for Run 1630 at the Park Inn Kingskerswell for Archangels
trail where he appeared just in time and looking rather weary, after
laying his trail and running the Grizzly yesterday. ( Well done also to
all the other TVH 3 runners who had also completed that tough event).
Good to see Peanut back with us and she did run “a little”. The only
announcement was from Rambo! “Forrest said that he could not make it
tonight”....this was also confirmed by Forrest himself at the circle!
For after deciding that he needed food came along after all. Off we set
on what Mellon Picker had thought would be the usual trail, but after
we crossed the now very quiet Newton Road and headed on uphill on the
Short past the Sloop Inn, looking for marks which were a bit scarce, it
was obviously going to be a be very hilly and little different tonight. I
was glad that with my knee recovering I had chosen the Short. We gasped
on and on up hill onto stony tracks up and up over into Coffinswell,
where some kind person had parked their car over the arrow which led
Mouldy and I to go searching on towards Torquay before returning to
catch up with the short again. There was more climbing upwards over
fields before another lane where someone had decided the footpath right
was the way, but after a fruitless search right up to the St Marychurch
Rd, it was on back to the lane. Then off road around a ploughed field,
before a long winding descent where pacing me downhill was a fit Mouldy
Dick. Back now to that quiet Newton Road before finding another off road
patch just before reaching the Park Inn Quite where the Long went I
don't know and neither did Shrivel Dick except that it was a very long
run! The Park landlord Alan had provided some good food for a donation
to the Honesty Pot and the beers were excellent. Down Down awards time
and this weeks selected receivers were:-
MANPIG for spoiling ARCHANGELS chance of a Grizzly PB by plying with beers on Saturday.
SLIP on ME :-another DD!...for drinking so much last week she forgot her Jumper.
MIG MAN :- for volunteering for that FIRE WALK on Friday ( he has £100 raised so far)
ANDY :- The landlord had to have one for all those extra fried eggs he produced.
ARCHANGEL:- A Birthday DD we never did find out which ? But well done to him for a great evening.
On On to next week its my Trail from the Smugglers Inn Holcombe,
Dawlish. Hope all those FIRE WALKERS with burnt feet will enjoy the run Winfield
