TVH3 trail #1634 laid by 69 and SLACKER from the Kestor Inn Manaton, a
good turnout of Hashers including several visitors also good to see the
brief return of our great trail layer OLLIE. The pairs 4 or 6+ miler
started with some steep hills which as I was told the Long was not as
bad as the Short decided to take this route, but as I gasped my way up
towards Great Hound Tor I discovered that I was either very unfit or
lacking oxygen! But eventually catching up with FORREST STUMP
we arrive with some great views over this beautiful area from Black
Hill, seeing four of the Short below we decided to head on down as
FORREST'S leg fitting was playing up and my over indulgence from the
weekend was paying me back! Headed back down hill to the Inn with a
great sunset spreading out over the moor behind us while the remainder
of the pack were still out there somewhere last seen heading across
Trendlebere Down, down to the river Bovey and into Hisley Wood where in
the gathering darkness some without torches wished they had remembered
them.
Eventually everyone made it safely Home with some so pleased
with their experience commenting “this should be nominated for trail of
the year!” The obliging Landlord had laid on a Hash Menu and provided
the beers for the DD's which were awarded to the following Hashers :-
WHISPERER for backing his car into a wall in his haste to get to the loo
AVATAR who recommended others, found himself drinking up after winning
the pubs Grand National sweepstake and not buying our beers!
DRAG
ACT who was somehow awarded a 750 Runs badge! this must be very creative
accounting on behalf of TEAPOT who was now missing.
Hare 69 for trying to dodge the awkward questions about the trail!
Well done to 69 and Slacker for a great evening.
