Monday 4th of April its # Run1633, a great turnout on a bright sunny
evening for WET JONNY'S trail from The Wellington Inn Ipplepen, with
many joining Hasher’s + a Virgin runner who “may return again”. JOHNNY'S
trail a 3 or 6 miler which he described as being not muddy! Led the Long
around the village where the marking faint in places due to earlier
rain confused us, but we had followed the wrong path! Soon back on trail
and heading along to Orley Common where there was some t
hick
mud! Around the common with plenty of marks and crosses! then out onto
the road heading into Torbryan, some cut short here although not sure if
was going to be shorter? Off road now and good to be running in
daylight with a chance to view the great countryside around us. Through
wall to wall water across fields losing the trail with WIGWAM and ZORRO
who knew the area we reached a check, not kicked out so POACHER and dog
must still be behind us?? Onto lanes with more unavoidable water,
heading on up a gasping hill climb to the reviving Sweet Stop at last.
On On again along with POLLYFELLA and going at a good pace, which
pleased me as my damaged knee was at last allowing me to run, although
not as fast as I should! Heading back into Ipplepen now and only just
needing the headlamp for the last section On Home. The landlord of the
Wellington has some great strong ales available, if your not driving!
but there was no problem with our thanks, for the sausage and chips and
beer for the DD's, awarded by MOULDY as RENT BOY could not get back from France ! awarded to :-
WET FART for in-spite of the huge CP parked within inches of the pub door!
LADYBOUY who told a Hash lie to the RA
SATNAV aptly named who was confused by all the dots and crosses on Orley Common.
LAYBOUY again for saying “I'll come again” after receiving her first DD
Well done WET JONNY for a great evening.
