Mon
20th June # 1644 Circle at Haldon Belverdere CP, for Hare Undulating
Bottom's Trail on a bright sunny evening but another lowish turn-out
no-doubt due to those who wanted to experience the pain of England not
scoring a goal on their own. With us at our Circle were 5 returning
Hashers Undulating s M&D with dogs + Porridge + Pit Bull + unnamed
Harriet. Request from DORIS for two Hash Trail dates in August. Over to
UNDULATING who's Trail assisted in some part by DAMP PATCH was to be a 2+ or 5+ miler with Sweet Stop.
As my damaged knee had somehow become infected, running or even walking was going to be a problem I decided to wait awhile, which was just as well as ARCHANGEL suddenly appeared on his bike and after a quick briefing he set off on trail never to be see again by anyone that evening. Probably the thought of riding down to the OD at Kennford and back up was too much! Those who ran the trail enjoyed it very much with some great views, as it wound its way along the forest tracks then up and down though the woodlands following the narrow cycle tracks What happened on trail was only revealed at the Down Downs back at the Seven Stars in Kennford. This old pub which we used to visit years ago before it closed, has now been reduced in size and modernised but was still a welcoming place with a pleasant landlord who donated the DD beer without question, the pizzas on the menu, of which half of one of these was more than enough for two, were very tasty and ordered by most Hashers. As the football was on TV in both lounge areas our DD's were conducted out in the neat small garden.
First one going to MOULDY for finding water yet again, this time in his car to splash over us.
Next one was going to go to WET JOHNNY for ordering the massive half pizza all for himself!
But SMELLIE was finally chosen for becoming attracted to a Phallic (sbe Phallus) stinkhorn mushroom in the woods.
SHRIVEL was chosen for following FAKAWE wrongly when the ON HOME sign was clearly pointing down the track they came out on!
Finally one for DAMP PATCH “the dog rescuer” for saving Mums dog “Harry” stuck on the edge of a cliff.
Well done UNDULATING for a great trail and a great On Down (loved the pizzas)
On to next week at the Keyberry Arms, Newton Abbot, Hares : Teararse & Mateus Rose'
On On
WINFIELD
Here we see "Harry" at the Circle and the great views
