Monday 25th June #1649 Circle up at The
Red Rock Brewery Bishopsteignton for ZOOT and HOTLIPS trail, a good 40+
turnout when GM PILTDOWN MAN welcomed several returning and visiting Hashers to the
pack along with virgin Hashers ELLIE and SARAH. Future trails now
required by DORIS for September please. On On we headed out of Humber
village and soon up a long gasping climb to Little Haldon, a L/S split
taking the long with SM.ELLIE we head up even further to the golf
course, but did not spot a check a mark lead us out onto the course
dodging the golf balls but no more marks, we headed back to the X road
where we found the Pack “nice bottom” ?? TEAPOT called out as we passed
heading down to the Sweet Stop. Thought about staying “On Long” from
here with some great views to snap with BOBBIBALL, but a nagging leg
pain forced me to abandon this idea so we headed back to the Short trail
Past Higher Radway Farm. We did try the Short to Ashwell but somehow
ended up crossing a cornfield back to Humber. The Hares very scenic
trail had led the Longs down into Bishopsteignton, back up towards the
church, then on to Ashwell before circling around on tracks and lanes
back to the Brewery. In Red Rock Brewery bar who had opened this evening
especially for us, PILDOWN distributed his up-to-date RUNS list for
every member, good food was also supplied with an “honesty pot”. Down
Down award recipients were duly selected, going to the following Hashers
:-
ARCHANGEL who now appeared to have joined “bald-headed club”
ELLIE (virgin hasher) who had to get her leg over! As she was unable to unlatch the field gates.
SLIP-ON-ME as organiser of the “Saga holiday group” tour.
BOBBIBALL who left all his bookkeeping secrets at the pub last week!
Well done to ZOOT and HOT LIPS for a great trail and evening.
On to next week at Hound Tor CP, OD Kestor Inn, Rambo & Doris
