The Teign Valley Hash returned at last to its birth name place for
SLACKER and No.69's trail from The Teign House Inn. As our GM was still
drinking Guinness in Ireland, it was my pleasure to welcome one Virgin
Harriet plus the return of FORREST STUMP and visitor Fester. Its was
then On On along the pairs well marked 5+ mile trail leading us down the
valley road then up the steep Pound Lane, which certainly sorted out
legs the breathing, before taking us off
road along a track past Shippen Farm followed by a L/S split taking us
Longs MOULDY and SMEllie up again! round a long loop which retuned via a
footpath through someone’s garden, where the owner did not seem pleased
to see us?? Down hill now on Nutcombe hill with a chance to stretch
out our legs before we reached the River Teign at Bridford Bridge. A
“Beer Stop” had been promised and here was 69's van at last? “Do you
have the beers” we asked...What? said a startled fisherman trying to
pack away his rods...apparently not! so off we continued towards Leigh
Cross and just around the corner was another white van this time
surrounded by Hashers swiftly drinking the beer and cider. Torches were
certainly needed now as we trekked up hill again on a long rutted track
with another Short option, choosing Long again and jogging steadily up
finally to a check at Spanishlake Cross. Choosing the downhill here with
WOOF WOOF and FUKAWE proved correct as we were soon On On again up and
down the field edges with Slackers messages to greet us at every stile
before reaching the old Teign Valley railway track followed by a fast
pace run in to the CP.
The new Landlord and Landlady at the Teign House had laid on a special menu and kindly provided the bees for us, with the DD's going to the following offenders:-
The two “pricks” SLACKER for being stung going near a bees nest!
WET JOHNNY for running on even with a huge thorn through his trainer.
WINFIELD for upsetting a pleasant evening outside with his car alarm going off.
TEAPOT for producing a new award hat ….that had to be awarded to him first!
DEEP SEMEN wearing new trainers “with a great grip” had to drink from them!
A great run and evening well done to SLACKER and No69.
On to next week at The Elizabethan Inn, Luton, Hares:- Piltdown & Georgy-P-Orgy.
On On
