A great gathering outside the pub on a very mild evening, with the Super Moon up there somewhere above the cloud cover. GM PILTDOWN MAN welcomed the large Haldon pack, plus ex Hasher TRUCKER and visitor MUM mother of SLIP-on-ME who on her birthday was determined to do some of the trail along with the walking group. Our long lost pair! Hare's FORREST STUMP & FORREST Humps trail of only a 4 miles and marked in powdered clay! was shorter than their usual marathon distance as we had much to do later. Firstly leading us down the village, through the churchyard up a stoney track the first of many hills! onto road before it was soon up an even steeper footpath into fields then more steep lanes our quad muscles were certainly getting a good workout on this warm night. The eventual fruit stop at Bowden Farm was most welcome before we headed at last downhill through the many leaves to the Brennah hamlet with a chance at last to pick-up the pace for the run into Christow.
The Artichoke was very busy with the landlord Sam assisted by ex Hasher GOLDEN VIRGINIA serving the much needed beers as fast as possible, while our donations for KIM were being gratefully gathered by a very persuasive SLACKER, before were able to enjoyed the excellent food laid on by the pub.
Outside now for the Down Down's, but before this a few words from WIDE RECEIVER for KIM followed by her husband TOM who expressed his heartfelt thanks to us and the whole Teign Valley for their support in raising funds for KIM'S treatment
Thanks to RAMBO and SLACKER'S efforts in organising this evenings event £65 has been raised on alternate Haldon hash which will be paid into Kim's just giving page making a total now of £337 raised by Hashers so far. Some others who couldn't attend will also be making donations. If you are happy to message RAMBO he will add up all the donations and see what our grand total will be.
Our DD awards were given to FORREST STUMP and FORREST HUMP for only doing it (Hashing) in the Valley: ARCHANGEL for checking for the awful smell on the “Pillock” shirt MUM of SLIP on ME received her Birthday DD in the usual way, but SLIP-on-Me had to do the drinking. DAMP PATCH produced a new Award hat from RASPBERRY NIPPLE (now somewhere in Iraq) which was immediately awarded to him ready for next week.
Well done the Hares for laying that testing trail.
