Monday 1st May #1689 at the The Cridford Inn Trusham. Hare's FORREST
STUMP, FORREST H, REARENDER plus dog! A good turnout on a pleasant sunny
evening, good to see several returning Hashers WARM FRONT fresh for her
London Marathon experience also Mr CHIPS (later in the bar!) plus
“virgin” Hasher Trish.
After a few words from Grand Master Piltdown Man it was On-On around the village with the Longs soon getting into confusion “had he said two and On or not?” we trekked down steeply into woodland only to find a “Cross” so back uphill!
On-on again through a now permanent home camp set out across the footpath which lead us down on a winding trail to Shortridge woodlands and through a magnificent spread of bluebells and wild garlic, before crossing wide open fields avoiding the horses! we found ourselves back on lanes at Bramble Bridge with a steep climb ahead.
At Higher Preserve after a nice stretch of shiggy! we crossed more fields trying to avoid getting a shock from the electric fencing! into a field where the Trail just disappeared in the long grass, but “fear not” out of the blue here was TEAPOT with horn to guide us across! quite how he managed so far from the pub I never did discover.
Back on lanes again, followed by a Fishhook 4, to slow the FRB's the Longs took a detour trail uphill with great views at the top of a setting sun over Dartmoor before the trail turned eventually through more fields back down into the On Home at Trusham.
The Landlord at the Cridford Inn had kindly provided a deal of egg chips and salad with a drink for £10 which once the Pack spotted the size of this meal orders flowed.
Down Down awards were given to the following offenders:-
FORREST STUMP for being away so long but an excellent trail tonight.
RAMBO for using REARENDERS nerd name at his excellent Coastal Marathon.
TRISH our “virgin” Hasher for spotting a “Willy” mark?? (this was the Fishhook)
MANPIG reaching his 300Runs badge at long last!
Well done Forrest and Team for an excellent evening.
On to next week at The Wellington Inn, Ipplepen. Hare: Wet Johnny
