At at our Circle it was still raining heavily, as it had been for most of a very stormy day, but a hardy band of TVH3 Hashers made it.
The Pack were clad in a variety of gear from a full waterproof outfit down to just shorts and a Tee Shirt and one appropriately named WET JOHNNY was wearing new shoes!
A REMINDER that HARES are STILL REQUIRED for JULY 10th so if you have a Trail in mind now is the time to get it onto our diary.
The pairs trail which had been laid in the appalling weather, was one of their previous favourites, taking us up out the village after the Sloop Inn onto that long and now slippery off road track over the hill to Coffinswell.
A L/S split, took the Long on a devious loop before reaching PARAPRICKS abode and the Sweet Stop (No Rum this time too wet!) moving on up next along with PIDDLER and U-BEND through a field of footballs! “for the dogs” .
Next into woodland, we nearly lost the trail along Milber Lane, but after retracing our route found the marks down going down through stinging nettles! then down again through Aller Quarry to the Torquay Road.
From here I left the two camper-van experts checking over the stock at the garage site, while I headed On Home before it rained again!
Inside The Park Inn it was time to dry off before the landlord provided his usual excellent buffet for us and the beers for the DD's which were awarded to:-
NICE BUNS the twin Hare later found asleep at home on the sofa!
LADY BUOY one of the Harriet's spotted getting a lift On Home!
SOAPY also a “lifter” for rummaging down her jeans.
ONLY HERE/BEER did a very short walk before deciding having a beer was better!
Well done to the Hares for laying a great trail in those appalling conditions
On to next week and welcome return at last to The Carpenters Arms Ilsington
where the Landlady is putting on a food offer for us. Hare: Winfield
Here are our Hare's one very wet and one dry!
