#1697 On Mon 26th June at The Old Manor Inn, Preston, Paignton with Hare: BOBBIBALL.
At our circle GM PILTDOWN MAN welcomed the return of HORNIE and PORK TORPEDO, but we were sorry to hear of DORIS'S accident and wish her a speedy recovery.
Gm's latest Quiz question..”In what year did Paignton railway station open” many dates were called from 1800 to 1900, but the correct one “1859” was from Pork Torpedo and thank goodness he came back this week as we could have been there all night!
Bobbi Balls trail with three L/S splits a Sweet and a Beer Stop led us out of Preston through the well kept Council gardens, uphill on road but very soon off road into Primley Woods and still going up onto Preston Downs with great views over the Bay.
Next through Occombe Woods on a lower trail, with a Long's on a return high loop, bringing us all back out on to the road, where we had to dodge the diving seagulls before going down to the RG in Scadson Woods. From here in was down and up and up to Occombe Farm where FUKAWE and I lost the trail but WET JOHNNY found it.
Over the road we trailed back into Occombe woods with a final long haul uphill towards the old Windmill, followed by a long decent to find BOBBI'S beer stop at his new pad, which was obviously waiting for a complete makeover! after reviving ourselves it was On-On down back to O/Home.
In the pub ZOOT took payments for our 1700 T-shirt to wear on 17-7-17 with final orders to be hopefully taken next week. After excellent food the DD's commenced which were awarded to the following Hashers:-
MANPIG who could not find the Check mark until he bent down!
U-BEND a reverse house envy on seeing the work required on Bobbi's place!
HORNIE having trouble with untied laces and it was her Birthday!!
MOULDY DICK: wondering who gets the last DD? the 200 badge was for him!
Well done Bobbi for a great demanding trail and excellent evening.
On to next week “American Independence Hash” at the Sea Trout, Staverton with Wigwam.
On-On
