Run No.1609 Mon 26th October high up at Gallows Gate near the execution
spot on the Torquay ring road with a good turnout of Halloween costumes
for Boggy's Trail which after a confusing start for some led us down
the main road, which was probably a startling sight for motorists to
encounter a stream of flashing torches held by ghoulish figures heading
down hill from the Gallows Gate.
We were soon on Cockington farm land on BOGGY and “ emergency assistant” ARFANAR's well marked
trail, twisting and turning through the woodland tracks with plenty of
checks, false trails and “Fish-hooks” to slow down the FRBs . Eventually
the trail led us down to his excellent mobile refreshment Cider &
Sweets stop, where it was good to see ARCHANGEL back with us. It was all
uphill now from here, we were led out into Armada Park and managed to
lose the trail here, but after a long search PIDDLER found the back gate
and we were off again up into Shiphay with a long trail ahead now
leading us back to the “Gallows” At the Farmhouse Tavern it was time for
the selling to start...”Get your Raffle Draw here”, “Christmas Party
here” and “Subs over here” it was
like being in a market! Time for the DD's which were awarded to
BOGGY- asking Arfanar for help, then forgetting to give her a lift to the Sweet Stop.
PIDDLER - not returning at the Fish-hooks!
SOAPY - losing the tail from that costume and not spotting WIDE with it round his neck.
LADYBOUY quite unrecognisable with all that black hair!
Well done Boggy for a great run and thank you Arfanar !
