Mon 2nd Nov at Tinkley Bottom for Forrest's Bonfire Hash. FORREST was
panicking as numbers steadily grew on a dry (for a change) and warm
evening. “would there be enough food and drink to feed all these
Hasher’s?” a lot more than usual were turning up. At the Circle good
to see the return of long absent THATCH and a welcome to TIGHT LIPS. As
we were warned of a river crossing at the first check, most headed
on-on up the never ending hill Farley Hill which had a nasty “Fish Hook
8 “ to bring the FRB's back down again. After coming to a higher check
that caused confusion, we eventually found the trail heading up on what
was meant to be a footpath but was more like a stream, so those dry feet
were soon wet anyway! After another gasping climb, you certainly
didn’t need to run on his trail to get fit! we found ourselves at a
check in Trusham. Soon to be named ANDY took the lead now heading down
hill at last! but almost missed the L/S split into fields where great
winding trail led us down to Whetcombe Barton farm and the “On- Home”
Much preparation had been put in by Forrest and Heidi and others to set
up the lighting food and beer on an ideal large trailer and of-course
build that massive bonfire that almost loomed over us. The food was
excellent “Road Kill Stew” “Badger Burgers” Venison and Garlic Bread
were just some of the very tasty selection spread before us. As SATNAV
started selling raffle numbers she had us all searching around for a £10
note which she later found in another pocket of her purse! but this was
too late for a DD as they had already been awarded to FORREST for
losing the trail and then falling over his own car park sign. NOT A PAIR
for poor poo control of this dog!
REAR ENDER “Knew the river crossing point”, but could not find it!
Naming s for Hump JUNIOR now to be MOONSHINE as he “likes a good drink”??
And also ANDY now to be known as NOTHING STICKING as no name did!
Finally to PIDDLER a birthday DD but how old is he??
An excellent evening very well done to Forrest and team.
